Halloween

Micah dressed up as a giraffe for Halloween this year. One neighbor asked him, "Did you fall off of Noah's ark?" He replied, "No. I just dressed up this way!" We had a great time trick-or-treating, going to the pumpkin patch where he learned to call pigs during the pig races, and carving our pumpkin!

Micah had a pumpkin hunt at his preschool last week, and it was cold! He found the "perfect" pumpkin!

Lowe's Build and Grow

Lowe's has these clinics called "build and grow" where you go and get to make really cool stuff! The first one we went to we built a firetruck. Micah LOVED the hammer that was just his size. Check out his tongue in these pics - he was working hard!

Snake!

Unfortunately, we have several snakes that live around our house, so Micah is always telling me that he'll "get them" for me. He's got a plan about how he'll get the shovel and whack them until they are dead, just like his dad. Well, we were at my mom and dad's when I thought I saw a big worm - wrong - it was a little snake! So, Micah hauled himself out to the shed, grabbed the shovel and proceeded to kill his very first snake! It's in the corner of the shovel in case you missed it. He couldn't have been more proud of himself! (and neither could I!) His cousin Carter doesn't look so sure!

First Day of Preschool!

 
 You can see by the second picture how excited Micah was to start preschool this past week! :)  He was a little nervous, but did great.  He has one teacher that he also had last year, so that helps the transition.  On the way to the school I asked him what he wanted me to pray for while he was there and he said, "That I won't hate it and that I can obey."  Nothing like getting to the point!
 

"Fish hair"

 
 We have been on the go so much that cutting Micah's hair hasn't been a top priority....so he told us that he wanted "fish hair" (a mohawk to us).  We had been fishing and the crappie we caught had fins on their backs like mohawks, hence the fish hair!

Grandma's Mowing Crew

 Micah had the most fun at harvest - he rode the combine, the grain cart, the cemi, and most importantly, Grandma's mower!  He was steering while Carter was running the gas - who could ask for more? :)

Wheat Harvest

 
 We missed most of wheat harvest this year because we were in San Antonio, which was really a bummer.  We love harvest, but at least we got in on the last day!  Patrick barely had time to take any pictures since he was driving the combine...
 
 

Seaworld!

 

 

 

 We got to spend three days in San Antonio at Seaworld for our vacation!  We had a blast seeing Shamu and the dolphins and the sea lion shows.  It was pretty funny when there were four whales in the tank and Micah said, "How do they know which one is Shamu?"  He bought a stuffed shamu and sleeps with it every night!  There is a waterpark connected to seaworld, so we spent time cooling off since it was so hot!  Patrick had a conference on the River Walk, so we were gone a long time and home looked good!

Oregon Trip

 

 

 

 

We got to go to Oregon to see Patrick's family earlier this month.  Micah had a blast with his first airplane ride (which he deemed "awesome") and his first time seeing the ocean!  We were a little under dressed at the coast in our shorts and jackets - there were others there with coats and stocking hats! But we had a great time building sand castles, and of course Micah had to put his feet in!  We also got to visit an aquarium with touch pools where Micah got to touch starfish and feed an abalone some seaweed.  Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Wilson for such a great adventure!  

It's raining, it's pouring...

Our spring has been wet and cold so far, but that doesn't keep Micah from wanting to go outside. He wanted to have a picnic so badly that he sat out in the rain! He had quite a fun time catching water from the gutter, seeing how his fast his race cars went on wet cement, and casting his fishing pole in the driveway!

Late Easter

Happy Late Easter! Time is flying - with something happening all the time! We are currently watering some seeds that we planted in hopes of transplanting them to our garden. The first day they poked their heads up I heard Micah say, "My seeds are growing! Blessed be the King of Israel, my seeds are growing!" Pretty funny - I think he must've been listening to a song with that line in it!

We sure did enjoy the warm weather last week, but it was fun to play in the snow today! I tried to build a snowman, but Micah decided it would be better to beat it into oblivion. Then he hit snow "baseballs" until we couldn't feel our fingers!
